On another note:
I forgot to mention last night that on my way home from visiting mom and dad I had a SERIOUS craving for a dipped cone at a place I used to frequent quite a bit.
I was so pulled in that direction that I actually went right by the restaurant when I had the option of not even going near it, or going right past it.
The urge was soooo strong my car pulled me in that direction.
When I was mere moments away from having to make a decision, I asked myself this question:
So let's say I buy a small dipped cone and eat it. How long will the benefit last of enjoying that small cone? Maybe 3 or 4 minutes? How will I feel afterwards? Then I pictured myself on the beach in Mexico having that extra little amount in terms of fat attached to my body. I saw myself not having as much fun because I hadn't reached my goal.
It was just then that I made a split second decision to turn right and get onto the Henday over turning left and heading to the restaurant that was staring me in the face.
I couldn't believe it when I turned right. I was sooooo proud of myself for having the determination and willpower to look my weakness "in the eye" and then drive right past.
I was soooooooo proud of myself on the way home that I stopped by the DQ near my house to celebrate with a small cone....NOT!!!!!!!!!!! hahahha
Just checking to see if you're paying attention! :)
I keep thinking back to that moment and I'm still in shock that I had the willpower to turn away. I even remember thinking "oh, I'm on a cleanse day tomorrow, it's okay if I have just one small cone". Can you believe that thinking? Yeesh.
Everyone has their addictions, whether it's gambling, drinking, drugs, food...and on and on the addictions list goes on. Even healthy addictions like body building, and running everyday...anything that excites us and we are drawn to repeat over and over again for whatever reason.
Food is my addiction. It always has been, and it always will be. I find that Isagenix has really helped me tame the beast. When following my program correctly, the cravings seem to diminish almost completely, I feel good, and want to keep going. Especially as an instant gratification kind of gal, this is a huge reason why Isagenix has worked for me in the past and will continue to do so for the rest of my life.
I have good days and bad days, but I'm soooo proud to say that I was able to conquer my old habits last night and that feels gooooood! It feels good to be in the driver's seat and have complete control of my "vehicle".
Thank you for listening to my story. I felt it needed to be shared in this moment.
Today I had a GREAT cleanse day...no cheating whatsoever.
-I had 4 oz. CFL four times today.
I enjoyed three drinks with water (1 in 32 oz. water, another in about 15 oz. water, one in about 10 oz. water, and a cleanse tea with Ionix of about 20 oz. water.
- 3 Isadelights
- 6 Snacks
- TONS OF WATER. WELL over 100 oz.
The CFL can be diluted as much as one want. I personally prefer taking it in a shot because of the yummy, strong shot of flavor over adding it to a lot of water. However, on cleanse days I dilute it because for some mental reason I feel fuller if I drink it over time as opposed to taking it in one chug.
I know, silly mind games....but whatever works!!!!!!
I learned today on Dr. Ina's call that following the program as strictly as possible produces the best results. She suggested NOT taking electrolytes (which I've always taken on cleanse days...oops?) and definitely NO HARD BOILED EGGS. On a cleanse day, the body is taking a rest from having to digest, so eating something like a hard boiled egg that is hard to digest slows down the cleansing process and kind of defeats the purpose. However, Dr. Ina says a couple of raw almonds and up to 6 IsaSnacks (ESSENTIAL. ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL) throughout the day to keep the blood sugar level, and up to four IsaDelights are just fine.
I really highly recommend listening in on her calls. I learned SO MUCH today! :)
Blessings,
Jen
